In October 2014, I wrote my first “Big Data with Big Ben” blog post for BuzzBuzzHome, where I analyzed the data generated from their website, which tracks new home developments across Canada. With hundreds of thousands of website clicks every month, BuzzBuzzHome is capturing the interests and aspirations of prospective Canadian homebuyers. New home developments in Canada have been clicked over 120 million times on their site since it launched in 2009.
When discussing plans to launch my own company in 2017 with a couple of my friends, I mentioned that I needed a competitive edge, what additional advantage (other than my experience) could I bring to the table. Former colleague Frank “The Bank” Margani suggested I take those Blog Posts and turn them into a full report. I loved the idea, and immediately got in touch with Matt Slutsky of BuzzBuzzHome, and The Residential Real Estate Round Up Report was born.
This monthly big data housing report will be able to provide subscribers with immediate feedback on prospective buyers’ interest in new sites and the floorplans within those projects. What unit sizes are popular? What price ranges are popular? How is the market shifting in terms of the product types being offered? What is the next hot area?
The chart below is an example of the types for charts you’ll see in The Round Up Report. The size of the circles below shows the popularity of floorplans in a couple of the most notable new condo launches at the end of 2017.
If you’re trying to decide how to program the suite mix, unit sizes and prices for your new project, you can call me, you can sign up for The Round Up Report (or you can do both). To download a FREE copy of the first issue, CLICK HERE.
