Business Process Analysis

In some instances, an organization may wish to change its mode of business to meet changing consumer or parent organization needs.

In these situations, a key first step is to analyse how the organization is working and whether it can meet the changing, external needs. This may involve:

  • Elicitation and prioritization of an organization’s Business Requirements / high-level goals
  • Analysis of existing written or oral processes
  • Document the Business Domain Model (entities, actors and rules)
  • Documentation of  “As Is”  business flows using Business Use Cases and Activity Diagrams and/or BPMN
  • Facilitation of “To Be” business process analysis sessions with varying levels of staff
  • Documentation of the gaps between the current and desired states with listing of recommendations that link back to the priorities Business Requirements / Goals.

The results of Business Process analysis may be a listing of recommended business process changes, identification of communication or training deficiencies, recommended IT changes or all of the above.
